QNAP Introduces the TS-h1290FX, Its First All-Flash NAS with AMD EPYC CPU

The firm QNAP has given us a big surprise with the presentation of the TS-h1290FX, its first all-flash U.2 NVMe/SATA NAS compatible with the PCIe 4.0 standard that is also equipped with the powerful AMD EPYC processors. Thanks to its excellent configuration at the hardware level, and the support of the most advanced industry standards, the new QNAP TS-h1290FX NAS is prepared to face any challengeand to deliver an optimal experience in any workspace.

Externally, the TS-h1290FX it has a sober line, markedly minimalist and with an elegant and attractive finish, allowing it to look good on any desktop. QNAP has taken great care not only in the design of this new NAS, but also in its size (it is very compact) and its cooling system, which translates into a silent wearing experiencesomething that we will certainly appreciate when we have to concentrate deeply on an important project and want to minimize distractions.

At the hardware level, the QNAP TS-h1290FX ensures a high level of performance and offers high scalability, is capable of working with content that requires high bandwidthincluding 4K and 8K video editing, and represents an important value in collaborative work environments, as it is capable of optimizing workflows by offering direct connectivity for up to 20 computers (PCs or workstations).

As expected, this new NAS uses the operating system QNAP QuTS hero, based on ZFS, allowing it to offer flexible storage management, comprehensive data protection, and optimized performance to improve workflow and multi-task performance. In total, QNAP has confirmed three different configurations that we are going to see in detail:

  • TS-h1290FX-7302P-256G: AMD EPYC 7302P 16 Core/32 Thread 3.3GHz Processor, 256GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM Memory (8 x 32GB Modules; up to 1TB RAM).
  • TS-h1290FX-7302P-128G: AMD EPYC 7302P 16 Core/32 Thread 3.3GHz Processor, 128GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM Memory (8 x 16GB Modules; up to 1TB RAM).
