The QNAP firm has renewed its catalog with the QTime SD-WAN 10GbE and 2.5GbE, a family of new generation routers that is designed to offer a secure and high-performance network experience in IoT and NAS environments, and that is integrated by the QHora-322 and the QHora-321. Both models offer enterprise-grade mesh VPN connection and wired connectivity.
According to QNAP, for businesses and personal users who want to create a secure network experience and separate network segments for IoT and NAS environments, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of a NAS or an IoT device (any brand) to ensure backup security and remote access via VPN.
At the hardware level, both QNAP routers feature an enterprise-grade quad-core processor. The QHora-322 has three 10GbE ports and six 2.5GbE ports, while the QHora-321 offers six 2.5GbE ports. Both models allow you to create flexible WAN/LAN configurations to achieve an optimized network implementationenabling high-speed LAN, fast file transfer between sites, multi-segment stand-alone operation, and automatic mesh multi-site VPN.
The two QHora models enable an interconnected mesh VPN topology via QuWAN (QNAP’s SD-WAN technology), offering a reliable network infrastructure for prioritized network bandwidth, automatic WAN failover, and centralized cloud management.
Frank Liao, Product Manager at QNAP, commented:
“Data security is a top concern for organizations and home users. To ensure the security of remote access and prevent possible attacks, it is strongly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of your NAS device for remote access scenarios. With additional features such as firewall and IPsec VPN provided by SD-WAN, QHora routers offer a secure network experience and effectively reduce potential data loss threats due to malware and ransomware.”
QHora routers use the operating system QuRouter, It offers a simple web-based user interface to help with daily network administration tasks. Both the QHora-322 and the QHora-321 include state-of-the-art network security techniquesand emphasize security of access between enterprise VPN and edge connections.
They also include features like website filtering, VPN server, VPN client, firewall, port forwarding and access controls, which enable you to effectively filter and block untrusted connections and login attempts. SD-WAN also provides VPN with IPsec encryption, Deep Packet Inspection and L7 Firewall to ensure VPN security. Combined with QuWAN Orchestrator, the two QHora router models can help businesses create a highly reliable and flexible next-generation network.
QNAP has also carefully designed these two new routers. Both have a modern line and are very quiet, which facilitates its implementation in any space. They are already available in the Spanish market.
