Although headphones have become the preferred option for many gamers, speakers like the Razer Nommo V2 in its three variants are an excellent reminder that there’s nothing like a good set of speakers for an immersive experienceof long duration and with a considerable volume, without forcing our ears with a volume that, if listened to with headphones, could be harmful.
Don’t get me wrong, I love good headphones and use them on a daily basis, but there are certain times when speakers seem like a better option. Whether it is for very long gaming sessions or, above all, to play and consume content of any kind in which bass tones play an important role, a set of speakers, especially if they are accompanied by a subwooferthey have always given me a much more satisfying experience, no matter how good headphones are (and again, there are exceptional headphones).
It is for this reason that the announcement of the new Razer Nommo V2 family seemed great news to me, because This new proposal comes to give more life to a sector, that of PC speakers, which on a regular basis I have the feeling that it is, in these times, much less active than it was not so long ago. But hey, this is not a personal reflection, but news about Razer’s new proposal in this market, so let’s see what exactly it consists of.
Razer Nommo V2 Pro
We begin this review of Razer’s news with the Nommo V2 Pro, which They are at the top of the range of the brand. We are talking about a set of two speakers accompanied by a wireless subwoofer, and which is completed with a practical wireless control (we will talk about this device a little later). To provide rich and proper reproduction across the entire frequency range, they feature 3” full range diaphragmsboth equipped with aluminum phase plugs, which prevents unwanted resonance effects within the speaker itself.
For his part, the subwoofer has a 14 cm diaphragm with a downward projection, so unlike what happens with other subwoofers, it is not necessary to place it next to a wall to enhance the effect of the lower frequencies. In addition, to this we must add what I mentioned before, that it is wireless, so that the freedom to choose its location will be total.
These Razer Nommo V2 Pro are compatible with THX Spatial Audio and 7.1 sound, so that we can use them with sound profiles specially designed for certain games (you can check the list of compatible titles at this link). And, of course, the experience is completed with the brand’s unmistakable LED lighting, which in this case we will enjoy indirectly, since it is projected from the rear of the two speakers.
The Razer Nommo V2 Pro is compatible with PC, mobile devices, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. They will go on sale next June and their recommended price is €449.99.
Razer Nommo V2
In terms of performance, this kit made up of two speakers and a subwoofer is quite similar to the Pro version, although it has two notable differences with respect to it. The first is that, in this case, the subwoofer connection is via cableand that in this case the wireless control of the set is not included, although it is possible to purchase it separately and use it to control the sound.

Razer Nommo V2X
For those users who have a slightly more limited budget, but are attracted by the functions and design of the two main speakers of the Razer Nommo V2 kits, in this offer we find just that, the two speakers with full-range diaphragms of 3”on aluminum phase plugs, which provide great quality and fidelity of sound. These models, yes, They do not have LED lighting..

Razer Wireless Control Pod
This control device can be very practical, especially in circumstances in which we cannot get lost looking for the combination of keys or the system control to adjust the volume. It is a large rotary dial that, thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity, we can always place in the most suitable location for our needs. In addition, they also have a button that allows you to quickly switch between the different sound sources. And because it uses low-power connectivity, a full charge of its battery can last up to 8 months.
