As expected, Realme presented several smartphones at a conference on February 16. Two new models have been announced: the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+. They adopt the same design and some characteristics are common. The brand takes the opportunity to announce the Realme 9i in Europe. Presentations.
We had an appointment with Realme today for the launch of the “9” range which replaces the 8 range of 2021. We know the latter well, since we tested the Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro. The 9 range had already been inaugurated last January with the Realme 9i. But the brand promised us new things. And there were two: Realme 9 Proto replace the Realme 8 Pro, and the Realme 9 Pro+to make the connection between the 9 range and the GT range.
Realme presents the first smartphones that change color in the sun
Let’s start this presentation with the Realme 9 Pro. It is an affordable mid-range smartphone that will be sold at 320 euros in the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage version and to 350 euros in version 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is rare to find that a smartphone comes in two versions that offer the same storage volume. One of the interesting points of this smartphone is its hull, one of the colors of which is able to change color in the sunchanging from blue to orange.
The Realme 9 Pro integrates a screen 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS whose refresh rate is 120Hz. The processor is a Snapdragon 695, which includes a 5G modem and whose heat is managed by liquid cooling. The Realme 9 Pro has 6 or 8 GB of RAM, to which you can add up to 5 GB of virtual memory (to puncture on the 128 GB of storage). The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh, promising an autonomy of 2 days. It is fast charging compatible. 33 watts for a full charge that should run around 90 minutes or so.
On the photo side, you will find three sensors on the back and a selfie sensor on the front. The main sensor is a model 64 megapixels. It comes with a model 8 megapixel with panoramic lens and a model 2 megapixels for macros. At the front, the selfie sensor is a model 16 megapixels. Finally, note the presence ofAndroid 12 with the overcoat Realme UI 3.0. Besides the shell, the Realme 9 Pro is therefore a direct successor to the Realme 8 Pro with some improvements.

Let’s move on to the Realme 9 Pro+. You can already find in our columns the complete test of this smartphone. But we will still list the key points in this article. First the shell which changes color is kept. The screen, on the other hand, switches to 6.4 inches. He is Super AMOLED, Full HD+ and 90Hz (a lower rate than the Realme 9 Pro to save money). Under the screen is the fingerprint reader (previously placed on the side) which also acts as heart rate monitor. It’s smart.
The processor here is a MediaTek Dimension 920along with 6 or 8 GB of RAM (not including virtual RAM) and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The SoC is 5G, of course. The battery has a capacity of 4500mAh. This is lower than the Realme 9 Pro, but the smartphone is only 7.99mm thick. Finally, there’s Realme UI 3.0 and onboard Android 12.
On the photo side, it’s interesting. Realme has adopted here theSony IMX766, the main photo sensor of Oppo’s Find X3 Pro. It’s a very good sensor with omnidirectional autofocus and stabilized lens opening at f/1.8. It comes with the same trio as the Realme 9 Pro: sensor 8 megapixel with wide-angle lens, sensor 2 megapixels for the macro and selfie sensor of 16 megapixels. The set is offered at 380 euros for the 6+128 GB version and 430 euros for the 8+256 GB version.
Finally, note that Realme has formalized the arrival in France of the Realme 9i, a natural competitor of the Redmi Note 11. It will be sold at 220 euros in the 64 GB version and 240 euros in the 128 GB version. These strong points: Full HD + 90 IPS screen 6.6-inch Hz, Snapdragon 680, 4 GB of RAM, triple 50+2+2 megapixel photo sensor, 16 megapixel selfie sensor, 5000 mAh battery with 33 watt fast charge.
