realme 9 Pro: specifications and prices

We knew that the new realme 9 Pro series was about to arrive. Although the company had not yet announced the exact date, which made many people wait for it for the Mobile World Congress, finally this manufacturer has decided to anticipate said event a week and a half, today presented the realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ models, accompanied by a “little brother”, the realme 9i. Let’s see, below, what each of these three models offers us.

We start with the smallest of the 9, which in fact does not bear the Pro surname, despite having been presented along with the other two models. We met with a modest smartphone but one that offers excellent value for moneyand with some components and features that place it in the median that divides the high segment of the entry range with the initial one of the mid-range.

The first thing we see is your screen. 6.6 inches with an aspect resolution of 2400 x 1080 points with a density of 401 points per inch and that, with a variable refresh rate, can go up to 90 hertz. Its brightness level is 480 nits. And if we look under it, we will find a SoC with six cores (two for performance and four for efficiency) Snapdragon 680 with Adreno 610 GPU, which is supported by six or eight gigs of RAM (although the version of eight will not arrive in our country), to which we can add 5 more gigabytes of virtual memory, which come from the 64 or 128 of UFS 2.1 storage.

Regarding connectivity, this realme 9i does not make the leap to the latest generation, so we find 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5, in addition to NFC and GPS. And as for connectors, it has a USB C port for data and charging. The set is supported by a very decent battery of 5,000 milliamps, with fast charge function up to 33 watts.

Its main camera is made up of three sensors, the main one 50 megapixels with f/1.8 numbera second macro sensor with a resolution of 2 megapixels F / 2.4 and an option that I admit has surprised me, a specific sensor for black and white two megapixels, also with f / 2.4 number. And as a front camera, located in a hole at the top left of the screen, we will find a very decent 16-megapixel f/2.1 sensor.

Now we are entering, with the realme 9 Pro, in the top of the range of the company, aimed at the upper segment of the mid-range, and without being the latest in components, they do make a significant leap compared to the 9i that we have just seen, with the incorporation of technologies such as steam chamber to keep the interior temperature controlled of the device, added to visually very attractive designs.

The visible face of this realme 9 Pro is its screen 6.6-inch IPS/LCD with a resolution of 2,412 x 1,080 dots and a density of 401 points per inch, capable of reaching a refresh rate of up to 120 hertz. And already in its guts, we see that this realme 9 Pro is led by a six-nanometer SoC with eight cores Snapdragon 695 5G with Adreno 619 GPU. It is supported by six or eight gigs of RAMto which can be added another five virtual ones that come out of their 128 gigabytes of UFS 2.2 storage.

As you may have already deduced when seeing its SoC, the realme 9 Pro offers state-of-the-art cellular connectivity, that is, 5Gto which are added WiFi 5.Bluetooth 5.1,NFC and GPS. For cable data transmission, it has a USB C port, which is also the one you will have to use to charge its 5,000 milliamp battery with Dart fast charge function at 33 watts, an aspect in which it coincides with the 9i.

For its main camera, the realme 9 Pro combines three sensors, the 64 megapixel main and quite bright (f / 1.9) To which are added an eight megapixel ultra wide angle with f/2.2 number and a third for macro of two megapixels f/2.4. As for its front camera, which we will find in a hole in the upper left part of the screen, it is based on a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.05 number.

And we come to the top of the range, the realme 9 Pro+, which is the company’s first device to join the Plus versions. And without a doubt it does it in a big way, adding to much of what the realme 9 Pro offers some exclusive details, such as the touch sensor located under your screenand a design so fine that it does not reach eight millimeters thick.

The first difference that we see in the realme 9 Pro+ with respect to the other two models presented today is that in this case its screen has been built with a super AMOLED-panel, compared to the IPS screens of the other two. with a size of 6.4 incheshas a resolution of 2,400 for 1,080 points with a density of 409 dots per inch and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 90 hertz. Under the bottom center of it is located the fingerprint sensor.

Also unlike the 9i and 9 Pro, the realme 9 Pro+ does not rely on a Qualcomm SoC. Instead, we find a MediaTek Dimension 920 5G with Mali-G69 MC4 GPU, supported on six or eight gigabytes of RAMto which we can add another five gigabytes of virtual memory that will come out on 128 or 256 gigabytes of US 2.2 storage that the device has.

As in the realme 9 Pro, this 9 Pro+ also offers cellular connectivity 5Gbut in this case we also see a jump in the other two connectivity systems, with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The set is completed with NFC and GPS, in addition to its USB C port for data and charging. And also in relation to the battery we find another difference, because its capacity is 4,500 milliampssomewhat lower than that of the other two models, but as compensation allows fast charging up to 60 watts.

In the camera section, the main one of this realme 9 Pro+ is based on a 50 megapixel main sensor with f / 1.8 number, supported by an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro sensor. As for its front camera, little difference from its brothers, with a 16-megapixel f/2.4 sensor that we will also find in a hole in the upper left part of its screen.

realme 9 Pro: availability and prices

The six models that will arrive in our country are already available for pre-purchase on the realme website and will arrive at the usual points of sale on February 23. In addition, as a launch offer, from that day until February 28 it can be purchased with a special launch discount. The prices of the realme 9i are 299.99 euros for the 4/64 gigabyte version and 249.99 euros for the 4/128 gigabyte version. The realme 9 Pro 6/128 gigabytes will cost 329.99 euros, which goes up to 349.99 euros in the 8/128 GB model. And regarding the realme 9 Pro+, the 6/128 gigabyte model will cost 399.99 euros, which goes up to 439.99 euros for the 8/256 gigabyte one.
