Capcom has confirmed the requirements for Resident Evil 4 Remake, a highly anticipated game that will hit the market on March 24th and that it will be available for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series S-Series X. As it is an intergenerational transition game, its requirements are not very high, which is certainly good news for those who wanted to enjoy the game. without having to upgrade your PC.
Even if we only meet the minimum requirements of Resident Evil 4 Remake we can play it in a quite acceptable way, as long as we reduce the level of graphic quality and prioritize performance. This is a consequence of how well optimized the RE Engine is, and how well this graphics engine scales even on modest hardware, as long as a series of basic minimums are met, such as having 4 GB of graphics memory and having at least one Quad core CPU.
Resident Evil 4 Remake minimum requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit.
- Ryzen 3 1200 or Core i5-7500 CPU (4 cores and 4 threads).
- 8 GB of RAM.
- Radeon RX 560 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with 4 GB of graphics memory. The GTX 1050 Ti is more powerful than the Radeon RX 560, and the closest thing to that would be a GTX 1050.
- DirectX 12.
If we reach this level we can play it in 1080p resolution with averages of 45 FPS, as long as we prioritize performance over graphic quality. I imagine that we can use a quality configuration without problems middle-low.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Recommended Requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit.
- Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700 CPU (6 cores and 12 threads).
- 16GB of RAM.
- Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card with 8 GB of graphics memory. The equivalence is wrong, because the Radeon RX 5700 performs much more than the GeForce GTX 1070. The correct, and closest, would be a Radeon RX Vega 56.
- DirectX 12.
This configuration will be enough to play with very high quality in 1080p and get averages of 60 FPSalthough the performance could oscillate in scenes where the graphic load is very intense, as Capcom itself has warned.
Minimum requirements for ray tracing
- Windows 10 64-bit.
- Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700 CPU (6 cores and 12 threads).
- 16GB of RAM.
- Graphics card Radeon RX 6700 XT with 12 GB of graphics memory GeForce RTX 2060 with 6 GB of graphics memory.
- DirectX 12.
This is the minimum setting that Capcom gives to enable ray tracing, but it does not indicate what performance we can expect. The equivalency on the graphics card seems off, even though the Turing architecture (RTX 20) is more efficient at ray tracing than RDNA2 (RX 6000). The closest thing to the GeForce RTX 2060 in ray tracing would be a Radeon RX 6600XT.

Capcom has not given performance data either, but in this case it has spun the graphic equivalence better, since that Radeon RX 6700 XT performs similarly to the GeForce RTX 2070 in ray tracing, so roughly speaking it is a correct equivalence.
