Robert Pattinson in the cast of the Parasite director’s next film?

The director of Parasite could well call on Robert Pattinson for his next film, adapted from a novel which is soon to be published.

Bong Joon Ho takes his time. The director, multi-awarded for Parasite, is preparing his next film and it seems that he has finally found a direction to take. According to Deadline, the South Korean filmmaker will adapt Mickey7, next novel by Edward Ashton. The book, due for release in the first quarter of 2022, will follow the adventures of Mickey7, a disposable employee of a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there is a mission too dangerous, even suicidal, the crew turns to Mickey. After dying six times, and recovering a new body, he finally understands the terms of his contract and finds out why his position was the only one vacant.

According to Deadline, the author’s manuscript immediately caught his eye when presented to him late last year. Since then, its production teams have made good progress since the first discussions have already taken place with certain actors. Among them, it is particularly the name of Robert Pattinson which circulates. The Briton, who is beginning to make himself indispensable in Hollywood, could embody the main character of this space adventure.

On Twitter, the author of the novel confirmed that Robert Pattinson was well considered. “So I just found out that Edward Ashton is The Riddler’s real name in The Batman starring Robert Pattinson, who is apparently set to appear in the MICKEY7 adaptation, which was written by monthly, Edward Ashton. There’s a bug in the Matrix, man. “

Warner Bros in production

The project, which is still in its infancy, will be produced by Warner Bros. This is not the first time that the director has collaborated with the studio since he should also produce a mini-series inspired by Parasite for HBO Max. For Robert Pattinson, it is also far from being the first time that he appears in the casting of a Warner Bros. production. He had made his debut in the saga Harry Potter. He will also be in the cast of his next big project: The Batman. The actor will camp Bruce Wayne in front of Matt Reeves’ camera.

A particularly anticipated feature film since it promises to free itself from the DCEU, to return to the origins of the masked vigilante in these first two years in Gotham. Robert Pattinson will give the reply to Colin Farrell in the skin of the Penguin, Paul Dano in that of the Riddler and also, but above all, Zoë Kravitz in Catwoman.

The film is due out on our screens on March 2, after several pandemic-related postponements. It could reach the record duration of 2 hours and 55 minutes. A first in the history of the Dark Knight, but which is undoubtedly explained by the presence of many protagonists and the desire for the director to lay the foundations of a saga which could continue for several opuses.
