The European provider of payment solutions for marketplaces, Mangopay, has just reinforced its staff, with the appointment of Ronen Benchetrit as the organization’s new CTO.
Benchetrit will become part of the executive committee, as a result of the Advent International acquisition of a majority stake in the firm. As a key appointment to underscore Mangopay’s strong commitment to innovation, Ronen will be responsible for guiding the scale-up into the next phase of its technology challenge, leading one of the fastest growing tech teams in the payment industry.
The appointment of Ronen Benchetrit, who will report to CEO Romain Mazeries, is another step on Mangopay’s path to becoming the most comprehensive payments ecosystem dedicated to platforms. Ronen will bring three decades of experience leading high-performance engineering and technology teams to help Mangopay build a technology modern, resilient and scalable.
Ronen’s career has spanned multiple industries, working and leading agile cloud and product engineering teams on global scale-ups. He joins Mangopay at a perfect time, as the company is charting its next phase of growth.
Ronen will develop and execute the technology evolution strategy to drive business growth, working closely with Mangopay’s management team. He plans to double the team over the next 24 months, bringing in top-tier talent in all departments.

UK-based Ronen Benchetrit joins Mangopay from Bumble, a dating and networking app, where he served as CTO. Previously, Ronen was also CTO of a British online bank and the Pioneering peer-to-peer lender Zopa. He also served as CTO for the online gaming operator PokerStars, where he led the technology department from the private company phase to its IPO. He has a degree in Computer Science and has some patents granted in the field of computer science.
