Safari Technology Preview Together with the public betas, it is the only way for Apple users to test the company’s future software without having to be an official Apple developer. An open door that those from Cupertino leave you to “play” at being a developer.
Well, the said test browser has received a new update. You can now download Safari Technology Preview on your version 151 on your Mac and see what the next macOS Ventura Safari will look like.
A couple of days ago, the guys from Cupertino released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser that Apple introduced for the first time in March 2016. A version of Safari in the testing phase for all users, and thus testing the features that may be introduced in future versions of official Safari.
This version of Safari Technology Preview is based on the Safari 16 update and includes support for features that come in macOS Venturalike Live Text, passkeys, web extension enhancements, and other new features we’ll see in upcoming software for Macs.
The new version of Safari Technology Preview is only compatible with Macs running macOS 13 Adventure Y macOS Montereyso it no longer works on Macs with macOS Big Sur installed.
The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the software update mechanism in System Preferences for any user who has previously downloaded Safari Technology Preview. Full update release notes are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.
Apple’s goal with the Safari Technology Preview is to collect feedback from developers and users about its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can seamlessly run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and, while designed for developers, does not require a developer account to download it and use it as another application.
