Salesforce buys Troops.ai, a service for developing bots for Slack

Salesforce has confirmed the purchase of Troops.aian bot-based service that integrates with Slack to make it easy for sales teams to get and update data across different Salesforce systems. It is unknown how much he has paid for the company, whose purchase will close during the second quarter of 2023. Afterwards, Troops services and products will become part of the Slack division.

Troops was founded in 2016 by its current CEO, Dan Reich, who started the company with Scott Briton and Greg Ratner with the intention of simplifying the process of extracting and sending customer relationship management (CRM) data into Salesforce using Slack as a means of accomplishing the aforementioned data management tasks. In addition to Slack and Salesforce, as we have mentioned, the Troops.io service also integrates with Google apps, and has data processing and analytics tools on the back end.

It is unknown if the founding team of Troops will join any positions at Salesforce and Slack. It’s also unknown, at least for now, what current Troops customers can expect after the purchase process closes.

Troops CEO Reich has noted that when he and his two colleagues founded Troops, they wanted to “reimagine how you work. We wanted to make work easier, smarter and more collaborative. This announcement marks an incredible milestone on the Troops journey and we would like to thank our community, our valued customers, our partners, our investors, and our team for all of their support and camaraderie. We’ve been an industry leader, working with some of the world’s fastest growing companies like Salesforce and Slack. We’ve done this by bringing real-time data from systems of record like Salesforce to engagement systems like Slack, bringing together information and actions that front-facing teams need to close new deals and support existing customers.«.
