Samsung and its commitment to OLED: launches a website praising the advantages of LG panels

We have been waiting for a long time for Samsung to officially present its new OLED televisions. On the one hand, we know that the company will show its own QD-OLED Smart TVs, and based on the first impressions of the Sony A95K, the first model with this technology, they look really good. On the other hand, Samsung will also launch a second line of OLED TVs that LG panels will use.

The problem is that the Korean manufacturer has not yet reached an agreement with LG Display for the sale of its OLED sheets with which to create a new family of televisions that it has not yet announced. Most likely, we will not see these Smart TVs until the IFA in Berlin, but little by little we have been learning more details about it.

It is a fact that sales of OLED televisions are growing, in part motivated by the rise in prices of LCD panels during the pandemic. And Samsung wants its piece of the cake as this technology becomes cheaper and cheaper.

For this the manufacturer has launched a website where Samsung Display explains the benefits offered by organic light-emitting diode technology compared to traditional panels. Yes, it is very surprising that the manufacturer defends OLED technology tooth and nail when for years it has been its greatest enemy. And this is the reason why the company does not want to launch its OLED or QD-OLED TVs in the Korean market, at least for the first year…

On the website they indicate that OLED technology is better when working»no backlighting or complex color filters. Samsung OLED’s organic materials emit brilliant light and color on their own. Removing all of the backlight settings makes for an even slimmer display. All this with incomparably superior image quality.”

However, it is noteworthy that do not talk about its QD-OLED technology, but instead focus on LG’s OLED panels, as you can see in the explanation of these panels. If you are interested in knowing what the differences are, do not miss our QD-OLED vs OLED guide.

It is surprising the emphasis that Samsung has placed to say that OLED technology offers better brightness levels, as well as a superior image quality to LCD panels. As we have told you, the Korean company has always criticized LG and its OLED solutions. But, now that they have decided to bet on organic light-emitting diode solutions, although QD-OLED panels still have their famous Quantum Dots, they know that they have no choice but to carry out a good marketing campaign, and cross their fingers to that some of his most radical clients do not feel betrayed. Although, considering that they have been dominating TV sales for 16 years, we don’t think it’s a big concern for the company.
