The Galaxy Book3 Pro is a new generation professional ultraportable that Samsung will present on February 1st, taking advantage of the scenario of the “Unpacked” event, where we will also see the new Galaxy S23. This means that we still do not have official information, but thanks to a recent leak we have been able to learn the most important specifications of the successor to the Galaxy Book2 Pro.
Samsung will raise the bar with this new generation of laptops, although we still don’t know if it will repeat the use of aluminum and plastic or if, on the contrary, it will opt for a more premium finish (aluminum-magnesium alloy throughout the chassis, for example). . What we do know for sure is that the Galaxy Book3 Pro will arrive in two versionsone with a 14-inch screen, which will be the most compact and will have a starting weight of 0.87 kilogramsand another of 16 inches, which will have a base weight of 1.2 kilograms.
At the hardware level, the two versions of the Galaxy Book3 Pro will share a series of basic characteristics:
- AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels.
- DDR5 memory.
- PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage drives.
- Intel Core Gen13 P-series processors.
In its most powerful configuration, the Galaxy Book3 Pro will come equipped with 16 GB of DDR5 memory, it will have a 1 TB capacity PCIe Gen4 SSD and it will mount an Intel Core i7-1360P processor. This processor has four high-performance cores and eight high-efficiency cores, giving us a total of 12 cores and 16 threads.
The graphics solution will be an integrated GPU Intel Iris Xe Gen12, which adds 96 execution units, is compatible with DirectX 12.1 and can work without problems with multimedia content in high resolutions. When it comes to battery, the 14-inch Galaxy Book3 Pro has a 63 Wh and the 16-inch model has a slightly larger 75 Wh.
We still do not have details about the sale price or the date of availability of these new ultraportables, but we will soon find out for sure. Keep in mind that the Galaxy Book3 Pro series will have next-generation components capable of offering good performance, but that in the end it is a family that prioritizes mobility over raw powerand therefore are aimed at a very specific user profile, one who is constantly on the move and who needs light equipment, with high autonomy and good performance.
