Samsung Galaxy S23 will only use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Galaxy S23, the next generation of Samsung’s top-of-the-range smartphones, aims to be marketed early next year. As the months go by, the devices aim to incorporate more and more interesting improvements, and apart from that, the South Korean giant could launch them only with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, so there would be no model with Exynos.

According to the Ice Universe Twitter account, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 generation will only come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which means that the Exynos 2300 does not exist or at least will not be included in the next top-of-the-range smartphones from the South Korean giant. The same account shares a document from Qualcomm’s CFO saying that “75% share in global Galaxy S22 will go up in Galaxy S23”.

Information published by Ice Universe suggests that Qualcomm is aware that the Galaxy S23 will only equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2so there will only be a single line with its corresponding variants, which will differ in the amount of RAM, storage space for data and possibly cameras.

We will see what happens with the Exynos 2300 if Samsung still intends to push it forward, which seemed to be true just a month ago, but now prices have skyrocketed. rumors that the company could even discontinue the development of its own SoCs or at least put it on pause. Samsung may not be very satisfied with the results obtained, so for the Galaxy S23 it would have chosen to play it safe and bet everything on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is manufactured under the TSMC 4nm node to establish itself as one of the best solutions within your segment.

Due to an alleged error by Samsung, the start date of reservations has been leaked indicating that they would open on December 23, 2022. The Galaxy S23 generation is already showing ways in leaking performance tests and the Ultra model points to improve the rear camera in a remarkable way. We will see what future Samsung holds for its Exynos SoCs, but everything indicates that they will not be introduced in the Galaxy S23 generation.
