Samsung launches the Galaxy A04s, a smartphone with a 90 Hz screen for less than 200€

Samsung introduced a new budget Galaxy A smartphone called Galaxy A04s in Europe. The phone succeeds last year’s Galaxy A03 and comes with 50MP cameras, a new design, and more. Here are the details.

Samsung A04s

Only a few months after the arrival of the Galaxy A13 in France, the Galaxy A range welcomes an even more affordable newcomer, the Galaxy A04s. It directly replaces the Galaxy A03 and Galaxy A03s of the previous year, and promises much better performance, but above all a smoother screen.

Indeed, the Galaxy A04s has a fairly basic 6.5-inch PLS LCD screen with a HD+ definitionbut its refresh rate has been improved to 90Hz. It is powered by a processor Exynos 850pmore powerful than the previous generation Unisoc processor. This chip is supported by 3 or 4 GB of RAMand 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage depending on the chosen configuration.

The Galaxy A04s will settle for the minimum in photos

On the photo side, the smartphone relies on a 5MP front camera. At the back, it has a 50 MP main camera with an F1.8 aperture, a 2 MP depth camera and a 2 MP macro camera. As usual, we would have preferred to see Samsung using only one sensor on the back rather than using 3 rather inefficient sensors.

Good autonomy should be there, the smartphone using a 5000 mAh battery. We can also note the presence of a USB-C socket, a 3.5mm jack with Dolby Atmos, dual SIM support with a microSD card slot, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.0 and even an edge fingerprint sensor.

For the moment, Samsung has not communicated a price for its Galaxy A04s. However, since the Galaxy A03 is currently offered at 159 euros and that its big brother, the Galaxy A13, is also positioned under the 200 euro mark, it is expected that this new Galaxy A04s will be marketed in four different colors at the same price as its predecessor. Either way, the smartphone will come with Android 12 and the overlay of Samsung One UI Core 4.1. The smartphone should meet with great success for the Korean giant, since the Galaxy A already represented more than 50% of Samsung smartphones sold in 2021.
