SAP has announced, in the framework of its conference SAP TechEd 2021, all kinds of news, ranging from tools and improvements in low code and no code for enterprises and developers, to a new design language, through more integration options for the SAP HANA cloud.
The company has decided to unify its low code experience to SAP AppGyver and SAP Business Application Studio, and will open access for both to developers with little experience and little development knowledge so that SAP client companies can create new applications, or automate tasks.
Regarding the new SAP design language, Fiori Next, the company has taken advantage of its event for developers to give them a first impression of what the user experience will be like for those who use it. During the demonstration, attendees have been able to see what their interface will look like, as well as their palette of foreigners.
The language will also feature an improved information hierarchy, typography improvements, more contrast, and simplified aesthetics. For now, it is only available in the testing phase, and exclusively for developers using the SAP Business Technology Platform with SAPUI 1.93.3. As for SAP S74HANA Cloud 2011 users, they can activate the new theme with a few tweaks.
The free SAP Business Technology platform package, on the other hand, will include more options for individual developers. Thus, SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Integration Suite are added to it. In addition, SAP has reformed the web SAP Learning, and among other improvements to offer free access to courses for developers.
Among the new SAP integrations are new packages in the API Business Hub. Out-of-the-box integrations include connections between SAP Ariba and non-SAP systems, plus documentation compliance scenarios, and SAP Marketing Cloud and Qualtrics integration. SAP Integration Suite will also be available on Google Cloud by the end of 2021. It is already available on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud.
SAP Conversational AI also has new functions from now on. Among them the ability to transport bots between users or to initialize skills with memory or language. In addition, it has configuration tools for web clients.
Another novelty shown at SAP TechEd 2021 is SAP Recommendation Service, a network-based recommendation engine that leverages historical user behavior as well as metadata. Its tools include a cold start option for new items and users, the explainability of recommendations, and the ability to push promotions. As for SAP AI Core and SAP AI Launchpad, they are already available to SAP partners.
