The idea we had in mind was a compact system, with good features and a reasonable price. Among all the options seen, we have chosen this MinisForum system. We are talking about a fairly well-known brand in the Mini PC market with a great offer and powerful solutions. This system is based on the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H processor, which despite being “old” is still an excellent processor. This has 4 cores and 8 threads, working at a base frequency of 2.1 GHz and reaching 3.7 GHz in Boost mode. It includes this AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics processor, which will allow us to move games like CS: GO, Dota 2, LoL and the like.
This system has an M.2 2280 slot for SSD drives in this format and also a SATA connector for 2.5-inch drives. It includes two DDR4 SODIMM RAM memory slots for a maximum of 32 GB, which is quite a lot. Despite the fact that this system already has an option with memory and storage installed, we have chosen to acquire it separately, since we can obtain something better and cheaper.
When it comes to connectivity, this compact computer is pretty well powered. It has on the front a USB 3.1 Gen1, a USB 3.1 Gen2, a USB-C and a headphone jack. Meanwhile, in the back, it has two USB 3.1 Gen2, an HDMI, a DisplayPort and a 2.5G Ethernet port. Additionally, it offers WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
As we can see, it is a very complete system of very good quality, with a compact design and a very reasonable price.
Fury Impact 2×8 GB RAM memory
We have decided to choose the Mini PC without memory and storage to save and have better solutions. Among all the available options, these Fury Impact memories offer a good quality/price ratio. This Fury Impact 2×8 GB memory kit costs 51.16 Euros, which represents a 38% discount.
NOTE: Before we continue talking about these memories we have to warn that they are not Kingston memories. Although the design and the letters of “Fury Impact” match, they are not original. We know this because the name of Kingston does not appear on the “Fury”.
In this case, we have a kit of two DDR4 RAM memory modules in 8 GB SODIMM format. This means that in total we have a kit of 16 GB of RAM. More than enough quantity to play and browse, among others. This memory kit does not have much more, since it is a simple and economical solution for laptops and Mini PCs.
It’s not a Kingston product, it’s an imitation, which should work well and perform well, but of course, we can’t guarantee it.
Fangxiang S500 1TB M.2 SSD
The chosen Mini PC features an M.2 port, so for best performance we have chosen a compatible drive. The Fangxiang unit has caught our attention, for having a capacity of 1 TB, which is not bad. This Fanxiang S500 1 TB unit is worth 57.87 Euros, which represents a 65% discount.
According to the data, the 1TB capacity S500 drive is based on the PCIe 3.0 interface. The specifications indicate that it can reach a reading speed of 3,500 MB/s and up to 3,000 MB/s for writing. We must take into account that it possibly uses memory chips and a controller from 2/3 generations ago, so the performance could be a little worse.
Although we do not know the potential and actual performance, it can be a good solution if you are looking to have a powerful system and save a little.
