Schneider Electric expands its range of cooling solutions for data centers

schneider electric has announced a new range of refrigeration units for data centers with Uniflair chillers, equipped with inverter screw compressors and characterized by taking advantage of refrigerants with low global warming potential, or GWP, its acronym in English. By using refrigerants of this type, these refrigeration units make it easier for data centers to comply with regulations that are related to energy efficiency.

These 300-2200kW Schneider Uniflair chillers feature several high-efficiency and reliable cooling enhancements for data center applications. In addition, they improve the current platform, with new configurations and size. They offer, on the other hand, a modular configuration, and they are also packaged. Thanks to this, it is possible to speed up and simplify both the design and its implementation.

The new Uniflair chillers integrate a system known as free-cooling, which takes advantage of the outside air to cool the systems. This reduces energy consumption without affecting the size of the unit, and by reducing annual energy use they achieve an improvement in the total cost of ownership.

On the other hand, these chillers manage to reach more than 2 MW when the water has temperatures that can be considered high. This improves the cooling capacity of the unit when it is placed in a small space.

With this, Pankaj Pathak, Director Cooling, Secure Power at Schneider Electrichas pointed out that «The latest Uniflair Chiller is designed from the ground up with sustainability in mind, providing businesses with outstanding energy efficiency and reliability, even in harsh conditions. Through the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants, coupled with lower energy consumption, this range reinforces Schneider Electric’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, while providing customers with forward-looking adaptability.«.
