In full momentum to the digitization of small businessesIt seems that there is still a lot to do for SMEs to take the first step and create their website. Without a doubt, the pandemic pushed many businesses to become familiar with digital tools and web design in order to stay afloat. The success provided by digital communication in these circumstances was such that in 2021 Spanish companies spent an average of 260,000 euros to communication, as pointed out by a PR Scope study.
Despite this new reality, a GoDaddy report has revealed that in Spain 7 out of 10 small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) do not have a website to carry out their activity. This is because, despite the fact that many design platforms allow you to easily get around to creating practical and comfortable small web pages, they are tools that require time and experience. “The quality of the work and the optimization that each platform can provide are different, and it is essential to have professionals from the sector to create a homogeneous design and a good visual marketing strategy that is effective in terms of sales.”, explain sources of Deusto Formation.
Currently, the image transmitted by companies prevails over many aspects, to the point where the design The income of the entities that use it properly has increased by 32%, according to data from the consulting firm McKinsey Spain. The brand designwhich captures the attention of a greater number of customers and can be the factor that makes a company stand out from the competition, has become an essential axis for the digitization process of any business.
“It is evident that the digital transformation is already part of today, and that it has brought great changes in the labor market that we knew. This requires more and more professionals with more transversal and digital knowledge, and there is a strong demand for these profiles”, explain the teachers at Deusto Formación, a distance education centre. In fact, the World Economic Forum pointed out in 2020 that it was expected to create 133 million new jobs in the world related to digital design, so the graphic designer profile has become one of the most sought after in 2022.
The digital bonus is still valid for SMEs with up to 49 employees
Technology professions increased by 38% in 2021, becoming the best choice for those who want to secure a good place in today’s job market, according to consulting firm Mckinsey. According to these data, a year earlier, in 2020, online sales in Spain increased by 36%, placing Spain as the third country with the highest growth in e-commerce. Along the same lines, SMEs with up to 50 employees can now request the “Digital Bonus” that the government has made available, with a subsidy that it approved last year that plans to invest 3,000 million euros to promote digital transformation within this type of companies. 5,700 requests have already been registered by technology providers, and 2,500 have been resolved.
This is a development opportunity for companies and for the design and marketing sector, which is clearly in full growth and continues to adapt to the challenges of digitization. Currently, according to the Jobs of Tomorrow report, it ranks third in the ranking of jobs that will generate more employment until 2023. “Visual design involves many areas, from photo retouching and audiovisual design to web pages and even editing columns in digital press. It is a sector that needs people specialized in the digital field and that right now is creating this new qualified profile”, affirms Deusto Formation.
