Despite the arrival of the new standard, without a doubt the fourth generation of PCIe SSDs is still capable of offering us a margin for improvement, with interesting products such as the new XPOWER XS70 from Silicon Power, which are aimed at the gaming market to offer a new level of power and performance.
With a standard data transfer rate up to two times faster than version 3.0, this memory is capable of reaching Continuous read and write speeds of up to 7,300 MB/s and 6,800 MB/s, respectively, offering record figures in the current market. All this backed by DRAM Cache Buffer technology, which will further improve sequential read/write and random read/write performance.

Although this is not its only notable feature. NVMe 1.4 support enables higher performance, lower latency, and lower power consumption; while support for RAID engine technology and LDPC encoding maintains higher system stability and data integrity for maximum reliable performance.
Defined by the company itself as a “shark gills” design, the XS70’s heatsink features carefully angled grooves that allow heat to flow more easily to prevent overheating and maintain higher performance during longer sessions, delivering more stable performance.
In fact, thanks to its small form factor M.2 2280, just 80 millimeters, the XPOWER XS70 allows easy installation on desktops, laptops, and even PS5 consoles.
Unfortunately, although we can already find this SSD on the Silicon Power website, for the moment we do not know its launch date or price, which are expected to be updated in the coming days.
