SiteGround adds a data center and CDN location in Madrid via Google Cloud

The hosting platform SiteGround has added a data center and CDN location in Spain. Specifically in Madrid, and has done it through Google Cloud. In this way, the company adds Madrid to the company’s network of data centers, and brings information closer to local environments, which provides advantages in security, efficiency, flexibility and connectivity.

SiteGround now has seven data centers, four of which are in Europe. Specifically, in addition to Madrid, in London (United Kingdom), Frankfurt (Germany) and Eemshaven (Holland). The other three are in Singapore (Asia), Sidney (Oceania) and Iowa (United States, America).

With this new data center in Madrid, SiteGround improves the opportunities of the websites with the most traffic coming from Spain, allowing the distance between the website, its visitors and the web hosting to be reduced. Websites visited by users who are in the same area will have a noticeable reduction in latency, thanks to their geographical proximity, leading to faster page load speeds. For SiteGround clients, this results in an improvement in the speed of their pages, as well as a higher level of security, an improvement in the figures of said websites, as well as their business objectives.

The new data center in Madrid is added to the SiteGround CDN network as a new location, which allows this content distribution network to distribute the content hosted on other servers further away, serving it more efficiently.

Jose Ramón Padrón, Country Manager of SiteGround Spainhighlights that «andAt SiteGround we always put the customer at the center of our strategy. We want to provide the best service and user experience possible. With Google Cloud we have seen a great opportunity to continue improving factors as important as web performance by bringing servers closer to a local environment»
