ChatGPT’s reach continues to grow, especially since OpenAI released the API that allows the service to be integrated into third-party developments. Let’s remember that until then developers could use the GPT-3 API (and now also the GPT-4 API), but a very important difference between them and the chatbot model is their price, which is much cheaper in the case from ChatGPT. Not surprisingly, when said launch took place, I already anticipated that ChatGPT was waiting for us even in the soup.
It is true that the legal situation of the OpenAI chatbot in Europe is not exactly at its best, but it is it seems that the company is adapting to the regulatory framework at a good speed from the old continent, so today it makes sense to think that, except for the Italian precedent, and ChatGPT should be able to continue being accessible from Europe. We have already seen, in addition to their quick response to the Italian regulator, that they have recently also added the possibility to configure it so that it does not train with our data, which is a great advance.
Now, even if the situation were to get complicated for the chatbot, the same does not necessarily have to happen with other services that use this model, since in such a case it is more than likely that they are responsible for implementing the necessary measures to adapt their services to the GDPR. Thus, we can be confident that, even in the worst scenario, a large part of the services that have been proliferating for some time now, as well as those that already existed but are beginning to integrate ChatGPT, will continue to be available.
Thus, with these perspectives, there are many users who wish to have the most convenient and fastest possible access to the chatbot, and for said users Kidix has raised an interesting proposal, since it allows you to access ChatGPT directly from WhatsApp and completely free of charge. Its operation is very simple, you just have to access its website from your smartphone (on PC it does not always work), click on the “Start Conversation” button and, immediately, a new conversation will open on WhatsApp, in which you can chat with the chatbot.
This service is offered by a Spanish company, and on its website we can find its registration information, which at least in the first instance results in a certain guarantee. However, our recommendation in this regard is that you only use this service for general conversations, and that you never reveal personal data or private information in them. And don’t get me wrong, I have no reason to suspect any bad intentions on his part, far from it. However, experience has taught us to be cautious in this regard. And saving this point, Kidix’s proposal seems very, very interesting to me and, although I can’t help but wonder how they plan to monetize the service (perhaps by paying in the future), yes I am glad to see that a Spanish company offers such an interesting proposal.
