Apart from the magnificent work done by the Sony’s cognitive processor, the famous XR chipWhat differences are we going to find between the new QD-OLED panels that Sony will mount in its A95K compared to LG’s traditional OLEDs? the guys from zol.com have been able to check it in first person and they have left us a series of most interesting comparative images.
Although yes, as usual we do not know how they are configured, so do not take it as definitive proof of their differences. To the left of the photos you can see the new Sony A95K and to the right, the current top of the range of the Japanese brand, the amazing Sony A90J.
Compared to traditional WRGB OLED panels (those used to date), the new QD-OLED panels manufactured by Samsung have a number of advantages: noticeably higher gloss (both full screen and 10%), increased coverage of the BT2020 color gamut (up to 91% compared to 75% today) and better color saturation regardless of whether the item is bright or dim (something that does not happen in current OLEDs, as the color is washed out by the action of the white sub-pixel).
All this can be seen quickly by taking a look at the photographs above, where we can see how true what is usually said: most of the image quality of a television is given by the quality of its panel. On this new QD-OLED panel with higher brightness and more saturated color, the new Sony A95K combines the fantastic processing of the XR cognitive chip with the completely immersive experience of OLED technology. When observing the first three photographs (with planes with a lot of light,) the extra brightness and higher color saturation of the XR-65A95K (remember that it is the panel on the left) provide a completely mind-blowing visual experience. The color of the skin of the people is completely realistic and the flowers of the girl are saturated but without falling into artificiality. On the contrary, the color that is perceived in the A90J is slightly cooler (as a result of not being able to produce such a high brightness).
In this last photograph, completely dark but with a powerful bright element such as the character’s neon lights, the brightness and color improvements are still evident. As we commented, not only is it brighter, but the TV is able to maintain the correct color saturation even brighter. Seeing is believing.
Sony A95K: this will be the new remote control
The traditional design of the remote control was one of the few hallmarks of Sony. With this new version, the design has undergone a revolutionary change. The number of buttons is considerably reduced and the grip, the result of the new material used, is excellent.
Exquisite button backlight design allows users to operate smoothly in a dark room. There is also a built-in vibration effect. When we can’t find the controller remotely (we have lost it on the sofa, for example) you can use the new function by voice and ask the TV to search for you. The remote will begin to emit a sound and vibrate so that you can find it comfortably.
