Sony teases the arrival of its Xperia 5 IV for September 1

After launching the Xperia 1 IV in May 2022, a smartphone designed above all for photography, Sony will return to the front of the stage from September 1, 2022. Indeed, the brand has given fans an appointment on this date for the presentation of a new compact smartphone. Everything suggests that it will be the Xperia 5 IV.

As you may know, Sony launched its new flagship in May 2022: the Xperia I IV. With this smartphone, the Japanese firm has put the package on the video part, with a device capable of filming in 4K and in 120 frames per secondwith all objectives.

The rest of its technical sheet was just as attractive, between its 6.5″ OLED screen for a maximum definition of 3840 x 1644 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.

However, we have just learned that Sony will return to the front of the stage with a new smartphone from September 1, 2022. Indeed, the Japanese firm has just invited fans on this date to attend an event dedicated to the presentation of a new Xperia.

As you can see, everything indicates that Sony is about to unveil its next compact mid-range smartphone, namely the Xperia 5 IV. As a reminder, Sony’s Xperia 5 series usually offers more affordable devices than the Xperia 1, considered the spearheads of the company. According to the first documents relating to the device, we will indeed be in the presence of a compact phone with 155.74 mm in height, against 165 mm for the Xperia 1 IV.

The latest Xperia 5, namely the Xperia 5 III, was released on September 24, 2021 at a price of €999. It was equipped with an OLED screen in FHD + 120 Hz 6.1″, and there was a Snapdragon 888 under the hood. It benefited from a generous 4500 mAh battery, compatible with 30 W fast charging.
