This is about a tool with which the offers published in the last three months in the job portals of Infojobs, Tecnoempleo and Ticjob are tracked, identifying and showing in a very visual and interactive way everything related to these job offers. It offers much-needed information on the profiles and digital skills most in demand by companies in Spain and by province.
The situation of the digital sector in Spain
The Fundación Telefónica Employment Map has become a much-needed tool at a key moment for the digital sector, and that is the real situation has led companies to readapt and prepare for the changes offered by new technological advances. Companies have been forced to rely on digital technology professionals to get the most out of their activity.
Although the outlook is encouraging as far as job offers are concerned, the business reality is quite uneven. In this sense, The community of Madrid is at the head of the one that offers the most offers of digital jobs, with a total of 25,335 positions available between the months of December and March. They are followed by Catalonia with 14,137 and Valencia with 4,485 offers.
Of these offers, the study is extended with the information that one in three offers of digital professionals offer the possibility of working remotelyand that those that lead the ranking are those related to software developers, followed by ICT consultants and systems administrators.
According to the report The Digital Society in Spain 2022 that has been published by the Telefónica Foundation, in Spain in 2021 there were 720,000 specialists in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), representing only 3.8% of the total national employment, compared to the 4.8% average in the European Union.
Although large companies offer employability in these positions of 67% in Spain and 76% in Europe, Regarding small companies, employment in this sector is 16% and in medium-sized companies, 18%.

The Employment Map offers the analysis of various elements that are very useful when it comes to finding job vacancies. The registration is carried out by delimiting the most requested profiles, the most demanded skills, the remote work offers and also by autonomous communities.
Analyzing the latest data offered by the Employment Map for the month of March, A total of 91,639 job offers for digital professions have been registered in our country. The report also clarifies which are the five profiles that Spanish companies demand the most:
- Software developer: more than 16,500 offers.
- ICT technical professional: more than 9,400 offers.
- Digital Project Manager: more than 9,200 vacancies.
- Systems administrator: close to 8,500 jobs.
- ICT Consultant: over 8,000 vacancies available.

- Java, present in almost 12,000 job offers.
- JavaScript, requested in more than 8,000 offers.
- Cloud computing and GIT, in more than 6,000 vacancies.
- Angular, present in nearly 6,000 jobs.
The Telefónica Employment Map allows you to find out about the job offers that offer teleworking positions. According to the data that have been published and that refer to the last three months, 33% of offers in the digital sector have the possibility of working remotely. The profiles that offer teleworking are those of software developer with more than 8,000 vacancies available, ICT consultant and systems administrator with more than 2,000 offers in each of them.
Job offers by autonomous community
The Telefónica platform gives the possibility of knowing the demand of the digital professions by autonomous communities and by provinces, clearly facilitating the search. Analyzing the data offered from the last three months, Madrid is at the forefront of the autonomous communities with the most job offers in the digital sector, offering a total of 25,335 jobs. Madrid is followed by Catalonia with 14,137, where more than 12,000 of them are in the province of Barcelona, and Valencia with 4,485 offers. These are followed on the list by Andalusia with 4,425, the Basque Country with 3,316 and Galicia with 1,729 beds.
