There is no doubt that fans of the Marvel cinecomics and, in this case of Sony’s Spider-Man, are eagerly awaiting the release of the new chapter of Spider-Man; so it’s safe to say the film will be a huge box office hit. A clear sign is that the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser trailer, released a few hours ago, has completely smashed the view record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.
It’s a record number of views for the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser trailer
When the Avengers: Endgame trailer hit the net in 2018, the video had picked up 289 million views in a period of only 24 hours. An incredible figure that was also the record… at least until the trailer for No Way Home came out.
The trailer for the new chapter of the Spider-Man saga starring Tom Holland has in fact collected 355.5 million views in the span of 24 hours!
According to Sony Pictures, the trailer also garnered the most social media mentions of any movie preview in the first 24 hours, with 4.5 million mentions worldwide. Overseas, in the US, No Way Home attracted 2.91 million mentions in 24 hours, almost double the 1.94 million mentions in the same period for the Endgame trailer.
Now we can’t help but wait for the inevitable box office success, while Sony’s top management will be rubbing their hands with the thought that it could become the highest-grossing film ever (but have they taken into account the pandemic?).
