We all know how beautiful many games are when they resort to that wonderful pixel art of the old releases from the 80s and 90s. There are many studios that want to give their productions that luster, however, in the case of Sidebar Games that passion is double because not only wants to take us back to the old days of RPGs more classic, but he wants us to enjoy various sports disciplines in all their dimensions.
It has to be said that this title is a kind of spiritual continuation of the old Golf Story that went on sale for Nintendo Switch in 2017, and that already then had a more than appreciable success that has now prompted Australians to fatten their ambitions a little more. In this way, now the catalog of sports disciplines includes tennis, fishing, volleyball, soccer, cricket, etc.
Of course, in addition to those games enjoying such disparate sports, you will have other tasks that are those that offer the variety to the development, because they have dressed what could be a sports simulator in an RPG adventure where there are also dungeons and enemies that we have to execute. Which brings us back to an obvious question.
More sport or more adventure?
That’s the quiz of the matter because Sports Story is a balanced compendium of both facets: we do not forget what moves us, which is winning games in all those sports that we like to practice the most, but it also immerses us in a beautiful RPG adventure with graphics that some would now call 2.5D that cannot help but remind us of some of the classics that we already listed above.

This game officially launched on the Nintendo eShop on December 23 exclusively for Nintendo Switch and it will not cost you too much since its price is 14.99 euros, so it practically becomes a must have designed for all those who have already tried the mythical Golf Story, or those who are now on vacation, have free time and are looking for something modern that mixes elements as vintage as graphics based on a mythical Zelda from the 90s.
