Stardew Valley 1.5 is finally coming to Android and iOS

It seems like yesterday when Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe, published the Stardew Valley update 1.5 in December 2020, one of the most ambitious in the entire history of the game, but which also marked his “farewell” to it. In case you don’t know the story, Stardew Valley is one of those projects carried out, from beginning to end, by a single person, and in this case Barone was exceptionally involved in the game, providing free improvements and updates for years to a game that, from its very launch, was already an essential.

As I said, version 1.5 was the final big update for Stardew Valley, to which Varone had dedicated himself exclusively for years, and it wasn’t until October 2021 that we learned of his next and still unpublished project, Haunted Chocolatier, a proposal that according to What has been seen to date retains iconic elements of Stardew Valley but, of course, it also aims to provide its own elements, which distinguish it from the title that has given it worldwide fame.

However, although I have said that Barone had said goodbye to Stardew Valley at the end of 2020, the truth is that there was still an outstanding debt with part of the gaming community, since this update only reached the desktop version of the game, which has also received several minor updates (not content, like 1.5) since then. Thus, Android and iOS users, who received this release also at the end of 2020, have been missing out on part of the game.

This has changed, fortunately, and that is that Barone, through your Twitter account, announced a few days ago the shipment of Stardew Valley 1.5 to the Android and iOS stores, and now this version is already available for both platforms. In the case of the version for Apple devices, I have personally verified it and it is already available to update, and although I have not been able to verify it in the case of Android, I have found quite a few third-party references that also claim to have already downloaded it.

With this update, the life of the game was substantially extended, which until then could be terminated (in reference to its main plot) by completing the community center (I do not explain what this consists of for those who have not played it but want to do it). New characters, objects, places, plots are added… it is probably the biggest of all the updates that have been published for the game in its entire history.

Android users, yes, will see that the game has to perform a file transfer operation. Barone himself reports on this, stating that this is due to changes in the operating system itself. It is, of course, a completely safe operation and that it will only be necessary to carry out the first time Stardew Valley 1.5 is opened on Android.
