A new look for Android Auto

Our colleagues from AndroidWorld have shared the changes to expect from the Android Auto update: we discover that the interface is still present but that the status bar and the call button on the side panel have disappeared. It would seem that Google was largely inspired by Apple CarPlay to offer a new, more modern interface. Our colleagues have also discovered that users will now be able to display the screen of their smartphone on that of the vehicle, and that it will be possible for them to reject a call by message via Google Assistant.

Our tests of the week

We love the OLED screen of the Vivobook 13 Slate

With the Vivobook 13 Slate, Asus offers a nice convertible 2-in-1 tablet for less than 700 euros. We particularly appreciate the quality of its OLED screen, its autonomy and its design. Even if the connection is rather average and we regret the absence of a USB Type-A / Type-C adapter, the presence of a microSD reader is notable. While the Vivobook 13 Slate’s power should be sufficient most of the time, its performance sometimes falls short.

Huawei’s Watch GT Runner should appeal to athletes

Even if the design of the Watch GT Runner is rather imposing with its large dial, the Huawei watch remains very light and pleasant to wear. If you like running, this connected watch is made for you. Even if we regret that the voice coaching is only available in English, the sports monitoring of the Watch GT Runner is very complete and the navigation is particularly fluid with Harmony OS. We recommend this watch if you have a Huawei smartphone, or at least an Android.
