Strange Planet: Rick and Morty creator will make the animated series for Apple TV +

The next animated project by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty’s dad), Strange Planet, taken from the webcomic of the same name and, now, also a graphic novel by Nathan Pyle, received green light from Apple TV + and will become a series. Harmon will make the show with the author of the comic, while Amalia Levari will be the showrunner.

The Strange Planet webcomic will become an Apple TV + animated series

The series will tell the “Deep and heartfelt stories of alien beings on a distant planet not unlike ours”. The stories will narrate the events of “big-eyed, bright blue aliens from a planet that shares a lot in common with Earth. The aliens sunbathe and sneeze, but they describe these actions with phrases such as “sun damage” and “bursts of facial fluids”.

The Strange Planet series will be produced by Apple Studios and the animation studio and production company ShadowMachine (Bojack Horseman). Alex Bulkley is Corey Campodonico are the executive producers of ShadowMachine. Steve Levy and Taylor Alexy Pyle are also executive producers on the project.

Here is the post published on Strange Planet’s Instagram profile (which we recommend you visit if you want to have fun with some cartoons) which announced the agreement with Dan Harmon and Apple TV +.
