While Stranger Things Season 4 was a smash hit, even setting one-week viewing records, fans wouldn’t have to wait very long for Season 5 to arrive. Indeed, Netflix has already officially announced preparing a final season for its hit series, and we had recently learned from the Duffer brothers themselves that the fifth and final season would arrive sooner than expected.

This information has just been corroborated by David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper in the series. In a recent interview with GQ about the final season of Stranger Things, the Hopper actor confirmed that the Duffer brothers almost finished writing the final season and filming will likely begin in 2023.

Season 5 of Stranger Things could arrive as early as 2024

In addition to confirming that filming should begin as early as next year, David Harbor also announced when he expects the fifth season to arrive on Netflix. ” I think we will [tourner] next year. They finish writing it this year, and they have to prepare, so hopefully it will be this year. But I think that’s the plan. It will therefore probably be released in mid-2024, based on our track record. “.

Season 4 of Stranger Things began filming in early 2020, but was later pushed back to the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With a delay of 18 months between the start of production and the broadcast of the episodes, Harbor’s prediction therefore aligns with the series’ usual timeline.

We already know a lot about this fifth season. The plot is still set to be set in the town of Hawkins, but this final season is expected to be shorter than season 4. During an interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, the Duffer brothers revealed that while the season is always longer than the first, their intention is to keep it closer to the ten o’clock mark.
