The first part of season 4 of Stranger Things should land on Netflix on May 27, 2022. According to the Duffer brothers, the creators and directors of the series, it will be necessary to prepare the popcorns for a few episodes. Indeed, some of them will be as long as movies, sometimes exceeding two hours!
Generally, a series episode lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. Everything will depend on the genre and the choice of directors/producers of course, some shows happily exceeding 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes each episode, such as Game of Thrones or the excellent BBC series Sherlock. For its part, Stranger Things had always been satisfied with about forty minutes to complete its intrigues, with the exception of the closing episodes of course.

As you may know, the sequel to the adventures of Eleven, Mike, and the others is going to come in a different format this time around. It will be divided into two partsthe premiere being expected for May 27 on Netflix, while the conclusion will be broadcast from July 1st.
Episodes As Long As Movies For Season 4 Of Stranger Things
Initially, the classic organization in eight episodes had been chosen by the showrunners, but they were forced to revise their plan given the complexity of the plots put in place: “The more we wrote, the more we realized that we needed more time for these revelations to make sense, for these plots to work. Halfway through, we knew we had to ask Netflix for nine episodes instead of eight, and when we started shooting, we realized these episodes were mega-long,” they explain to our colleagues on the site The Wrap.
Matt and Ross Duffer weren’t kidding about episode lengths. In effect, some of them will be as long as movies! The 9th episode will blithely exceed two hours, while the 7th will approach it. “We’re still tweaking it, but we’d say it’s over two hours long. It’s a big piece,” assures Ross Dufer regarding episode 9.
Either way, it’s not surprising. As announced by the Duffer brothers, season 4 will answer many questions that fans have. Moreover, the creators nicknamed it “Game of Thrones” because of the multiplication of intrigues and narrative arcs, nine in number for this season. As a reminder, a fifth and final season of Stranger Things is already in preparation.
