The Redmond giant has launched a major firmware update for the third generation Surface Pro X, a team that was presented last September 2021, and that is equipped with a quite interesting hardware configuration, since it has a 13-inch IPS PixelSense screen, it has a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels (3:2 aspect ratio) and uses a Microsoft SQ3 SoC.
With this update, Microsoft has made a major update and has improved key aspects of the Surface Pro X. These are the innovations introduced by the new firmware:
- Improved overall system stability, and fixed bugs that caused blue screens of death. Microsoft has not given more details about it.
- Performance when using the camera has also been improved.
- Bluetooth has received performance improvements that will have a positive impact on the user experience.
- The precision of the touch pad, included in the detachable keyboard, has been improved.
- Integration with the Surface Dock 2 has been improved.
- Enabled support for the new Surface Type Cover.
According to Microsoft, no issues have been found with this firmware update for the Surface Pro X, but we must keep in mind that when we perform these types of updates there is no turning back, as is the case with software updates, so if you prefer you can wait a few days before installing this new firmware to see if there are any bug reports. Nothing should happen, but given its importance it’s a good idea.
In order to install this new firmware, our Surface Pro X must be running Windows 11 21H2 or higher. If we do not use said operating system, the update it will not appear as available, so we have to keep that in mind. On the other hand, if you use said operating system but the update does not appear as available, don’t worry, it’s only a matter of time until it reaches your Surface Pro X.
