We already have the official requirements for System Shock Remake for PC, a highly anticipated game that has been in development for a long time and has suffered several delays due to how complicated it has been. Prime Matter and Nightdive, responsible for the game, have confirmed that its launch will not take place until May 30which means a new delay, but it seems that this will finally be the final date of arrival.
The System Shock remake is a huge graphical improvement over the original, and it will also come with major gameplay changes that will bring the game closer to today’s standards. The same will happen with the sound section and with the interface. As expected, all these graphic improvements have made this game at the level of what we can expect from a current title, but luckily It will not be very demanding at the hardware level.
After reviewing the System Shock Remake requirements, I can confirm that the game it will work without problems on a PC from ten years ago, and that any gaming PC configured from 2016 onwards will meet the recommended requirements. This means that in more current equipment it will work in a completely optimal way.
System Shock Remake Minimum Requirements
- Windows 7 or higher as the operating system (64-bit).
- Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-8320 (quad core) processor. The AMD FX-8320 is capable of driving eight threads, so the closest match in raw performance would be an FX-6300.
- 4 GB of RAM.
- GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7870 graphics card with 2 GB of graphics memory. The GeForce GTX 670 is more powerful than the Radeon HD 7870, and its closest match would be a Radeon HD 7950.
- DirectX 11.
- 2 GB of free space.
With this configuration the game should work fine on 1080p and low quality while maintaining an acceptable frame rate per second.
System Shock Remake Recommended Requirements
- Windows 7 or higher as the operating system (64-bit).
- Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-8350 processor (four cores and eight threads).
- 8 GB of RAM.
- GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 290 graphics card. The GeForce GTX 970 is slightly more powerful, and its closest equivalent would be the Radeon R9 290X.
- DirectX 11.
- 2 GB of free space.
This hardware should allow a good experience in 1080p with high or maximum quality, although I don’t know if it will be enough to guarantee a fully stable 60 FPS. This will also depend on the optimization of the game.
System Shock Remake is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series S, so it will be a intergenerational transition game.
