Technological spending by Spanish companies will reach 59.2 billion euros

90% of organizations in Spain recognize that having a digital strategy today is a necessity, as indicated by Jorge Gil, General Director of IDC Research Spain during the annual meeting of IDC Technological Predictions that will mark the business landscape and the Spanish economy in 2022.

The pandemic has been a point of no return in the digitization of companies with a technological investment focused on the impact of digital on the economy and society in general, and on changing our lives. According to Jorge Gil, 70% of the CEOs of large European organizations will be encouraged to generate at least 40% of their income from digital technology between now and 2025. IDC Research Spain foresees technological spending for digital transformation in 2022 to reach the figure of 52.9 billion euros assuming an increase of 1.7% compared to this year and sustained growth of 2.2% until 2024. Regarding technological areas at the meeting, José Antonio Cano, Director of Analysis and Consulting at IDC Research Spain, highlighted that mobility devices will grow by 1.2% although mobile phones will register a drop of 22.3%, the PC Traditional also fell 4.4% while tablets did register a rise of 3.2%.

  3. By 2024, most legacy applications will receive some modernization investment, with cloud services used by 65% of applications to extend functionality or replace inefficient code.
  4. To increase DevOps capability, by 2023 70% of companies will adopt machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotic process automation with scriptless automation to improve efficiency, collaboration, and execution.
  5. By 2023, 70% of connected workers in task-based roles will use intelligence embedded in adaptive digital workspaces from anywhere to engage clients / colleagues and drive company productivity.
  6. In less than five years two out of three of the main consumer brands They will use emotion detection and management technologies to influence customer engagement and purchase.
  7. By 2024, 70% of the G2000’s investments in enterprise automation will go to multimodal, no-code automation platforms that support digital enablement for both professional developers and business users.
