Tehran series wins International Emmy for Best Drama

The Tehran series will have a second season on Apple TV +

The series of spies and intrigues Tehran that a few months ago we informed you that it would have a second season on Apple TV +, has won one of the Emmy Awards. Ted Lasso will now have to share the limelight with another series that achieves one of the highest awards that a series can get. More specifically, the award has been won for the best drama series.

Tehran, the spy thriller by Moshe Zonder writer that tells the exciting story of a Mossad agent who goes undercover on a dangerous mission in Tehran that puts herself and everyone around her in grave danger, has won the award. for the best drama series at the 49th Emmy Awards. Directed by Daniel Syrkin and produced by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, Shula Spiegel, Alon Aranya, Julien Leroux, Peter Emerson and Eldad Koblenz takes the podium together with Ted Lasso and gives Apple good reason to think that its strategy on Apple TV + is the correct one.

The awards, which were presented this year by Insecure star Yvonne Orji, recognize the non-English language television programs, as well as those that were originally issued outside of the United States. The award-winning series, originally broadcast on Kan in Israel and on Apple TV + internationally, competed against “Araya” from India, “El Presidente” from Chile and “There She Goes” from the UK. The award was collected by one of the creators and producers, Dana Eden.

We already have a new gold bar among the Apple TV + program grid. I certainly can’t say what was coming, but the series has a lot of quality and a very good plot that makes the chapters go very fast. Hopefully it continues like this.
