Tesla is recalling its cars again due to another defect

Tesla, a large automaker, is once again facing some pretty massive problems related to the poor quality of its proprietary software. And if we go into details, then the authoritative publication The Associated Press reports that Tesla has recalled 817,143 of its vehicles due to a defect present in the seat belt horn function. And if you go into details, then absolutely all Model 3 and Model Y cars, as well as Model S and Model X cars of 2021 and newer, have this very “software error”, which in turn prevents the corresponding beep from sounding at startup, if the seat belt was not fastened.

According to the recall notice, you may be experiencing this problem by simply closing the door immediately after getting out of the vehicle. But be that as it may, the automaker is already planning to fix this seat belt horn error by releasing another unscheduled update “somewhere in the first days of this month.” In any case, it is at least encouraging that there are no reports of injuries, at least for the time being, there are no. And yes, some users may not have noticed this problem because the seat belt visual warning is still displayed correctly.

But even in this case, it should be mentioned that the South Korean owners of the company’s electric cars were the first to discover this problem. And to be more precise, it became known for the first time on January 6 of this year, while already on January 25, Tesla management decided that it was necessary to recall their cars, since the company’s investigation actually confirmed the existence of this problem. And although this recall is relatively minor, for Tesla it is not the largest and most unpleasant. And by the way, it’s important to note that the need for this recall came only a few days after the previous recall, which was caused by a bug in the full version of the self-driving system.

And yes, we should also not forget that right now the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating a whole series of incidents where company cars using autopilot crashed into emergency vehicles. Well, if you are the owner of a Tesla electric car, then you should be aware that the driver is fully criminally liable for an accident if the autopilot was driving the car. So Tesla, in addition to the recent recall of cars, has a very huge number of problems.
