When you are driving your car, the French Highway Code requires you to switch to low beam when a vehicle arrives in front of you. A feature normally automated in the Model 3 and Model Y. Until now it was too unreliable. Tesla therefore decided to improve it.

Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y offer a feature that automatically switches from one light to another. If the idea is excellent in theory, practice has shown that American electric cars are far from good students in this area. In terms of dipped headlights, Tesla’s behavior is still too erratic.

A future software update will improve the detection system of Model 3 and Model Y . Very soon, they will really switch to low beam when an oncoming vehicle is spotted. The feature is activated when the Heading Assistance is engaged, but it will also be possible to impose it elsewhere, by entering the menu and activating it.

Tesla’s high and low beam headlights will finally work properly

A bit like its whimsical CEO, Elon Musk, Tesla is currently grabbing the headlines. The company has finally launched the production of the Semi, the heavyweight intended for carriers whose autonomy should reach 800 kilometers. In addition, the manufacture of the Cybertruck, the electric pickup which already has 1.5 million pre-orders, should start in the second quarter of 2023 in the Gigafactory Texas, near Austin.

Among the company’s other significant announcements, we will also note the arrival of autonomous driving for all. Only US users can currently subscribe to the beta of the program, this feature is not about to be accepted on the Old Continent, for obvious legal and security reasons. Faced with this proliferation of initiatives, what can other automobile manufacturers do? Some, such as Honda, install PlayStation 5s in the cabin of their vehicles to bait the barge.
