More than 7,500 professionals met last week at the ASLAN Congress 2023. The thirtieth edition showed that the technology sector is still very much alive, despite the climate of uncertainty, and that it embraces specialization as a key path for providers of any kind.
Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity or the cloud world were the undisputed protagonists of the event. In addition to the specific spaces to deal with these technologies, the entire congress was branded in one way or another of those trends that are and will be a fundamental part of the IT business.
The ASLAN 2023 congress worked during the two days to present different technological proposals with success stories, solutions and trends that allowed attendees to soak up the latest in the sector in a segmented way. In this sense, the different spaces spoke of Data Management, Cybersecurity, Digital Workspace, Cloud Datacenter and Intelligent Networks.
During the congress it was possible to listen to projects of digital innovation both in the public and private sphere. Along these lines, representatives of companies such as Securitas Direct, Acciona, Merck Spain or Nationale-Nederlanden have shared their experiences with a large number of CIOs, CTOs and CISOs, with a presentation by the former president of El Corte Inglés, Dimas Gimeno, marking the point starting point of the Multisectoral Program.
The ASLAN 2024 Congress will be held on April 17 and 18
In the same way, experts from public administrations such as Correos y Telégrafos, the Ministry of Defence, the Madrid Health Service or the Social Security IT Management revealed the degree of execution and opportunities of the Next Generation EU Funds at the three levels of the administration.
A first-rate team of manufacturers, suppliers and wholesalers
The ASLAN 2023 Congress had the participation of more than 100 companies in the exhibition area, more than 150 speakers from public and private administration, and the collaboration of organizations and entities, as well as specialized media such as MuyCanal.
The history of this event comes from the infrastructure and networks, so this is where we find a large representation. From manufacturers specialized in WiFi such as Galgus, which showed its real-time attendee management solution, to others such as TP-Link.
Another of the niches with the most influx was that of business communications. Suppliers such as Sewan presented their white label offer open to the entire distribution channel at their stand.
In cybersecurity we come across almost all the top-level references. WatchGuard presented its XDR solution, ESET, Kaspersky, Sophos or Bitdefender had their own space and participated in various activities at the conference.
Among the exhibitors we could also see that the wholesalers were very active. V-Valley combined their strength and challenged himself in the presence of his newly acquired Leader. We were also able to see Also, Ingram Micro, MCR, Ingecom or Exclusive Networks that showed their everything as a Service platform.
Looking ahead to next year, the organization has already announced that the selected dates will be the April 17 and 18, 2024. At the moment, it has not been confirmed if they will repeat it again at the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid, since it is an environment that seems to be getting too small, judging by the capacity problems that were repeated again.
The ASLAN association is consolidated
Thanks to events and activities such as the ASLAN Congress, the association continues to increase its number of members. Specifically, the organization closes its most important event with a historical record of 180 associated companies. This represents a growth close to 30% in the last two years.
Ricardo Matépresident of the association, took advantage of the appointment to value the associated companies and the role that it plays in the union between the Public Administration and companies.
Maté highlighted the Association’s ability to attract talent within the ICT sector. Likewise, Maté shared his wish with those present that “Throughout this year, a large volume of Next Generation Funds can be executed and this year is truly the year of momentum, because according to information, apparently only 3,400 million of the 20,000 assigned have reached the hands of the companies that we are in the sector”.
Although the ASLAN Congress is one of the most important activities of the homonymous association, it is by no means the only one. The entity organizes throughout the year different meetings, colloquiums and meetings where it intends to promote the role of digitization in all its aspects, especially in the public sphere.
