With these two examples you should already have an idea of where the shots are going, right? Really, all modern games should work at those desired 60 FPS on average, but as we said other titles will go even better, and by this we mean that for example in League of Legends you should get around 140 FPS easily, just like in CS :GO or Fortnite.
What hardware should this cheap gaming PC have?
Let’s start with the processor; we are looking for a cheap gaming PC and that almost always means that we cannot go for the latest models available, so we opt for a Intel Core i5-12400F, a 12th Generation processor with 6 cores and 12 processing threads at 4.4 GHz, with the curiosity that all of them are P-Cores (performance cores), something that comes in handy to avoid bottlenecks in the games. To accompany this processor, we have opted for a quality motherboard but just for what we need: the ASUS PRIME B660M-A D4, a board that uses DDR4 RAM that is much cheaper than DDR5 and the loss of performance is not too noticeable, but it supports PCIe 4.0 SSDs and next-generation graphics without the slightest problem. In addition, its micro ATX format means that we can opt for a small box. You should be able to find this board for around €125.
We continue with the necessary hardware to assemble this cheap gaming PC, so the next thing to consider is RAM memory. Really, almost anyone who is well-priced is worth it, so we have opted for the RAM memory modules that we are certain are of the best quality, the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4, in this case a 16 GB kit (2× 8 GB) at 3,200 MHz which is more than enough. No need for offers, you should be able to find them for €45 or even less.
We continue with the storage, and of course we are going to opt for a PCIe 4.0 SSD to take advantage of the powers of the motherboard and thus reduce loading times in games. In this case, as it is a gaming PC in which we will want to install many games, we opted for a 1 TB capacity unit, since it seems less insufficient for these purposes today. We opted for a 1TB Corsair MP600 Force Series PCIe 4.0, which you should be able to find for a few €90.
Now it’s time to choose the most critical component (and the one that generates the most controversy around your choice) for a gaming PC: the graphics card. In this case we are going to opt for an 8 GB AMD Radeon RX 7600, a graphics card that we have recently had the opportunity to analyze and with which we can guarantee excellent performance for games at Full HD resolution. You should be able to find it around the €300depending on the assembler you decide to choose.
We have to choose the rest of the basic components, such as the heatsink, the box and the power supply; none of them directly influence performance (except for the heatsink, since if the processor gets too hot it could cause Thermal Throttling and reduce performance), so we are simply going to choose models that fit us in this configuration, but always thinking about They are of good quality and relatively cheap.
As a heatsink we opted for a NOX Hummer H-212 which is more than enough, and which you should be able to find for less than €30while our choice of power supply is an EVGA GQ 650W, a semi-modular power supply with 80 Plus Gold efficiency certification that you can find for a few €85. There are cheaper options like the Corsair CV650, but it’s not modular and its efficiency certification is 80 Plus Bronze, so we think the price increase is worth it.
Finally, we have to choose the box, and this is surely the component in which the taste of the buyer influences the most. We suggest a DeepCool CC360 ARGB, since for just €50 You have a micro ATX case that already has 3 standard fans installed (two in front and one in back), which supports heatsinks up to 165 mm high and graphics cards up to 320 mm long, perfect for this equipment.
With this, we would already have the configuration of this cheap gaming PC ready, so it’s time to add… how much does the complete PC cost? In approximate prices (since they fluctuate depending on the moment and the store), we are talking about €160 for the processor, €125 for the motherboard, €45 for RAM, €90 for the SSD, €300 for the graphics card, €30 for the sink, €85 for the fountain and €50 for the box, so in total we would be spending about €885 on this gaming PC that guarantees us to be able to play any game with everything at 1080p and more than 60 FPS… what do you think?
