We are often asked “what is the best graphics card on the market?”and it is a rather complicated question to answer, since you usually have to ask yourself an additional question… «what are you going to use it for?«. Despite this, and always bearing in mind that, for these things, it is imperative to always give a subjective opinion, in this article we are going to tell you what is, for us, the best graphics card of 2022 in terms of relationship price quality.
It is clear that an RTX 3090 Ti is objectively better than an RTX 3070, and yet it is also undeniable that an RTX 3090 Ti to play at Full HD resolution would be like killing flies with cannon fire, and that is the reason for asking the question “for what are you going to use it» when they ask us about the best graphics cards. Even so, those who buy a new graphics card usually do so with the intention of playing, and they always try to find the best performance with the least possible investment… for this reason, it is very important to assess the quality / price ratio, or more good performance / price of a graphics card.
The best graphics for performance / price of 2022
As always, first of all we have to make it clear again that what we are going to tell you next is our subjective opinion, based in this case on our own experience. This means that there will be many people who agree with our reasoning but also many who do not, and who say that another model or technology from another manufacturer is better (we all know the eternal AMD vs NVIDIA debate, right?). For this reason, and again, let it be clear that this is our personal opinion based on our experience.
That said, from our point of view the best graphics card of 2022 in terms of quality / performance / price is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050although we must admit that we have been hesitating between this or the AMD Radeon RX 6600. In both cases we are dealing with graphics cards with a relatively affordable price (both one and the other are currently around the 300-350 Euros depending on the store and the exact model), and for that money they have proven to be more than worthy graphics to be able to play at maximum resolution Full HD and even to 1440p in many games (in fact, relaxing the graphics settings are fine for that).
When we tested the RTX 3050 for ourselves, and although it was with a custom model from Gigabyte (the one you can see in the photo above), it made it clear to us that we were facing a very reliable graphics card in any type of game, delivering a outstanding performance to play with everything to the maximum and without fainting at any time, and due to its current price (which, by the way, is falling and let’s remember that NVIDIA announced it for €279) it seems to us that it is, today, the best choice for any user looking to play at full 1080p without breaking the bank.
After all, why invest €800 in a graphics card with much higher performance if in the end what you are looking for is to play at 1080p? Another thing is that you already want to play at higher resolutions or higher refresh rates (which are now very fashionable 360 Hz monitors), but even so it would be perfectly worth adjusting the graphics a bit.
In short, if what you are looking for is a graphics card with a decent price and that gives you outstanding performance to play, both the NVIDIA RTX 3050 and the AMD RX 6600 are not going to disappoint you, and they will represent an excellent return for the invested money.
