The best professional laptops of CES 2022 to start the year strong

Laptop manufacturers are happy. 2020 was a turning point in the sale of equipment that had been “languishing” for the last decade and in 2021, the trend has gone further. In the heat of teleworking and remote collaboration, more and more laptops are being sold and the main consulting firms in the market agree that at least during 2022 the trend continues.

This has caused that at the last CES in Las Vegas we have witnessed a real avalanche of new equipment, designed to respond to all kinds of needs. Among the most professional ones, features such as better screen resolution, materials that allow them to be made even lighter and a firm commitment to improve videoconferences have been imposed, both in the webcam section and in audio and microphones.

At MCPRO and with the support of our MC colleagues, we wanted to select some of the laptops that have shone the most at the fair and with which if you are thinking of renewing your equipment this year, you are not going to fail.

Dell XPS 13 Plus

Dell XPS 13 Plus is the new version of one of the models that must necessarily be included in any list of the best ultraportables on the market. And it arrives well renovated inside and out.

Dell has updated its benchmark ultralight with a modern, minimalist design. It has eliminated the two-tone carbon fiber interior trim of the classic XPS to create a simpler, tone-on-tone design, combining the exterior aluminum trim with an interior in the same material, available in two colors, platinum or graphite.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus takes advantage of its full size to mount a keyboard with large keys, an upper row that now includes a capacitive touch experience and as another great novelty, it launches a touchpad transparent glass touch that offers haptic feedback. Inside, new twelfth generation Core processors for laptops developed by Intel, up to 32 GB of RAM and the latest innovations in the field of connectivity. In addition and adapting to the needs of users who need to work anywhere, anytime, the HP Elite Dragonfly G3 adds enhancements for video conferencing and collaboration. Lenovo Thinkpad Z13 and Z16

Lenovo has presented a new range of ThinkPad professional laptops at CES 2022. This range, the Z, is made up of two models, the ThinkPad Z13 and the ThinkPad Z16, and is characterized by a redesign that includes sustainable and recycled materials, and by the integration of AMD processors, since these computers will not be available with chips from Intel. They include up to 32 GB of RAM and an SSD storage unit that in the case of the Z13 can be up to 1 TB, and in the Z16, 2 TB.

Thus, the Z13 will be able to integrate a chip from the AMD Ryzen PRO U range, while the Z16 will be able to include one from the AMD Ryzen PRO H family. They will also be the first to offer the possibility of including a processor from the new AMD family Ryzen PRO 6000.

The Z13 can go with the AMD Ryzen PRO 6860Z. As for the ThinkPad Z16, it can incorporate the AMD Radeon RX 6500M chip. Both will integrate AMD Radeon graphics card, as well as Microsoft’s Pluton security processor, responsible for reinforcing the security options of Windows 11 computers in terms of user identity, applications and data. ASUS ZenBook 14 OLED

A spectacular 14-inch OLED screen is the first thing that catches the eye of a model with which ASUS has once again attracted attention at the last CES. Its panel with native 2.8K resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio offers a refresh rate of 90 Hz, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and a response time that drops to a minuscule 0.2 milliseconds.

The chassis is made of an alloy of aluminum and features a new ASUS logo design on the lid. Very attractive, with minimal size bezels, its screen-to-body ratio is 90%, while the hinges open 180 degrees. Its dimensions speak of its thinness (313.6 x 220.6 x 16.9 mm) and lightness, weighing less than 1.4 kg.

Its hardware base is the responsibility of the AMD Ryzen Mobile, with models like the Ryzen 7 5825U ‘Cezanne’ series with eight cores and sixteen processing threads. It is accompanied by up to 16 Gbytes of LPDDR4X memory, while the internal storage is covered with up to 1 Tbyte PCIe 3.0 Solid State Drives. The new family, made up of two models, is designed to meet the specifications set by the Intel EVO platform. They offer respective sizes of 14 and 16 inches and native resolutions ranging from FHD + to 2K (2560 x 1600 pixels) of the top model. Its thinness and lightness extends to its aluminum body, leaving its thickness at 17 mm and its weights at 1.4 and 1.79 kg.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus 2022

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus 2022 follows the path of dual-screen laptops that the Chinese firm has been exploring in recent years. If previous models used a secondary electronic ink screen that allowed the user to close the lid of the computer and use it as an electronic reader or a digital planner to take notes, this year’s model has been conceived differently.

The ThinkBook Plus 2022 is a large laptop with a 17-inch diagonal ultra-wide screen. The reason for this design is to house a secondary screen as a graphics tablet located to the right of the keyboard. Is a stylus compatible touch screen, which allows users to write or draw on the main screen and interact with other elements of Windows 11. You can consult the complete information here.
