In April 2022, the manufacturer already announced that it had sold more than 20,000 copies. A great performance that led him to decline the AMI in different versions.

Citroën confirms the return of the AMI Buggy
Building on this success, Citroën has just announced this Wednesday, May 24, 2023 the return of the AMI Buggy. “Citroën “My AMI Buggy II” is still just as intrepid and friendly, without doors or roof, with its Khaki body color punctuated with acid yellow and its panoply of decorative elements which give it its unique adventurer character”. writes the constructor.
For the occasion, this model benefits from some alterations. For example, even if it will always be necessary to deal with the absence of doors in favor of these mini-gates, this AMI Buggy 2.0 has zipped plastic covers on board to protect passengers from the weather.
Besides, the hood now closes with a zipper, while the roof frame, longer than on the old version, acts as a sun visor. The interior also benefits from some improvements. The handset, still present on the steering column sheath, sports a cap in an arc. What give it a little retro look.
We also find this storage (a zippered bag), integrated directly into the center of the steering wheel, the AMI not having an airbag as a reminder. Note that it is held by clip-on backpack straps. In other words, you can easily unhook the bag and use it outside.
Finally, users will be able to jiggle to the latest trending sound via an Ultimate Ears Boom Bluetooth speaker supplied with the vehicle. In this regard, the speaker has a dedicated location on the dashboard. According to Citroën, “My AMI Buggy II” will be available in France and in 9 other countries in ultra limited quantities (1,000 copies) from June 20, 2023.
