The Callisto Protocol fixes its problems on PC, although not all

The crude reality

As we tell you, the most bloody thing of all is not that the game has reached stores with widespread problems in all its formats and platforms as a result of poor development, but that there have been classes and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X The Callisto Protocol performs as it should with a quality that is, precisely, what all those who have been waiting for him presupposed throughout the last year.

And if you don’t believe us, to show a button: here below you can see how the game performs for a user in some of its phases on a PC that we cannot say is lame in power. The Callisto Protocol backfires with an Intel i9-12900 processor64GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card.

But surely the worst comes now. Striking Distance Studios, responsible for the game coming out like this, announced within hours that he was going to correct all those problems so, with better or worse face, users understood that they had to wait a few days before receiving a solution. But no, things have gone much faster, so much so that a patch is now available since it makes it clear that they knew in advance the state in which their computer title was being put up for sale.

A band-aid instead of a patch

The result of that study reaction has been the publication a few hours ago of a patch that comes to correct that annoying stuttering that you can see in the video above and that is really a nuisance. In their official message, they warn that «Thank you for your patience. A patch is now available for PC that improves the problems of stuttering of the game due to the compilation of shaders. After the update, you may see stuttering in the game menu the first time you start the game. We are working on more optimizations in the coming days.”

Thanks for your patience. A PC patch is now available to improve gameplay stuttering issues due to shader compilation. After updating, you may see temporary stuttering in the game menu the first time you launch the app. We are working on further optimizations in the days ahead.

It is obvious that removing that stuttering is very good, but check how with an ultra-powerful PC frames plummet without a compelling reason is even more frustrating. So it’s that whole part of performance that’s going to need the most pick and shovel over the next few days before we really have any remedy for a fact that is completely unacceptable.

We already know that the fixed release dates are sacred and that PlayStation (or Microsoft when it comes down to it) command a lot and it is always good to respect the established deadlines, but same a good delay of a couple more weeks on PC launch day it would have served to correct everything in a more elegant way. Which is obviously not the case with The Callisto Protocol.
