Apple TV + is about to turn two years old. At this time, the company is headquartered in Cupertino has extended almost all available series since launch of its streaming video platform. However, Apple is not for the work of maintaining series at all costs.

The first series that will not have a second season is Little Voice, as we announced a few weeks ago. But it will not be the only one that has not obtained the go-ahead for more seasons. The next series that will not be continuity is Dickison, a series that will end after the third season, the company itself has reported.

The Dickinson series was one of the first series to debut on Apple’s streaming video platform when it launched in November 2019, a series that follows the young poet Emily Dickinson. The third and final season will premiere on November 5.

This third season focuses on the Emily Dickinson’s most productive era as an artist taking place in the American Civil War. Although initially it may seem like a forced cancellation by the audience, the creator of the series, Alena Smith has stated that she had planned for the series to end in the third season.

When I set out to do ‘Dickinson,’ I envisioned the series as a three-season journey that would tell the origin story of America’s greatest female poet in a whole new way, highlighting Emily’s relevance and resonance in our society today.

I can’t wait to share our epic final season with the world, and bring our audience together with us to the conclusion of Emily’s saga, as she continues to fight for her own poetic truth, while also taking on many of the problems we have now.

Since its debut, Dickinson has won several nominations and awards. In November 2020, the series won a Peabody Award, and picked up a nomination for best actress in a streaming comedy series for the 2021 HCA TV Awards.
