the director explains himself on the post-credits scene

After six episodes, Hawkeye delivered its conclusion this Wednesday, December 22. But after this final episode, fans were able to experience an odd post-credits scene to say the least. Explanations.

This year under the tree, Marvel has been rather generous. The legendary studio has offered two productions to its fans, in the cinema with Spider-Man: No Way Home and on Disney + with Hawkeye. The series centered on Clint Barton has bowed out this Wednesday, December 22; a conclusion particularly awaited because it promised to give us more ample information on the continuation of the adventures of the various characters of the MCU on the big and the small screen.

More was therefore the disappointment for the spectators, who did not have the right to a post-credits scene strictly speaking. Indeed, instead of the sequence traditionally from an upcoming film or a Marvel series, Hawkeye unveiled an excerpt from the musical Rogers, dedicated to Captain America and the Battle of New York.

If the amateurs of musicals will undoubtedly have had for their account, the others expressed a certain frustration with the viewing of the sequence, which one must admit it is rather catchy. Rhys Thomas, the director, returned to this first passage on the boards of the Avengers. He explains to Collider:

“I did not know. It was not intended that the series will end like this. In fact, I was a bit in the dark too. I wondered if this niche was going to be set aside to do something else, in the tradition that Marvel is known for. ”

He says he was not completely convinced by the idea, which he said risked disappointing fans from the start. Still, the House of Ideas was visibly quite confident. They would have replied: “No, no, it’s Christmas, it’s light. We have so much blood in this episode, it’s just fun. ”

What future for Hawkeye?

For the record, Loki hadn’t had a post-credits scene. Instead, Marvel had announced a second round of episodes from the adventures of the God of Mischief, deep in the Multiverse. Yet at this time, Hawkeye has not been offered a second season. Its director is however not against this idea. He confided to Première: “We have created a great dynamic in my opinion, a relationship that shows a certain chemistry. So, yes, we could perfectly consider continuing to explore this world… Even if there are no plans at the moment (for a season 2) ”

We will therefore have to wait and wait for Disney and Marvel to give us the end of the story. One thing is certain, we should find many series stamped by the studios as of next year, so we will have something to entertain ourselves.
