The first beta of macOS 12.1 now available with no news from Universal Control or SharePlay

Since last Monday, the final version of macOS Monterey is now available to all users Who want to leave macOS Big Sur behind and enjoy the few Monterey news that are already available, since Universal Control and SharePlay are not available at the moment.

And for now it seems that we are going to have to wait, since this first beta for now They continue to offer support for Universal Control and SharePlay. It seems that Apple has not wanted to get your fingers as it usually does at WWDC by announcing features that are not available at launch.

This first beta is available to the developer community via OTA with Build number 21C5021h. You can also download the beta from the Apple developer website.

Everything seems to indicate that when Apple confirmed that it was delaying the launch of the Universal Control function for the end of fall, I was not unnecessarily prolonging the implementation of this function, but you are actually having some problem that you do not quite solve.

For now the only functions that are available in the current version of macOS Monterey they are the redesign of Safari, the Shortcuts application, the Concentration mode, the sticky notes and the possibility of turning a Mac into an AirPlay receiver.

In order to use our iPad as a second screen, dragging applications as if it were a second monitor and to be able to view content from Apple Music and Apple TV + in sync with other users through FaceTime, we will have to wait until December.

It is also likely that that time is prolonged, something that we cannot rule out looking at Apple’s history of delays in recent years.
