The first comparison between Switch OLED and Switch leaves interesting things

A very generous screen

Go from 6.2 inches to 7 inches The new model may not seem like a compelling reason to change the console, however, you just have to take a look at the images published by the YouTube channel Nintendo prime to check that the changes are quite noticeable at first glance. And it is that an inch more, although it may seem little, supposes a significant change in size.

The best thing is that Nintendo managed to integrate this new panel while maintaining the original dimensions of the console, so beyond the rounded corners and the color change, the new Switch looks exactly the same as the previous one.

At this point we are not going to discover the advantages of having an OLED panel in front of our eyes, so it is clear that the new console will look really good, although we still want to see it in action outdoors, a place where it will possibly definitively sentence the previous model .

Changes to the dock and little else

OLED switch

The video has also been used to keep an eye on the new dock, which basically shows the presence of the ethernet port. Thanks to the network cable connection, the console will achieve more stability in the connection, and it will be ideal for online gaming. The dock itself maintains the same shape, although it has been slightly redesigned in some aspects, such as the hole to pass the cables.

We can also see how the ventilation duct of the console now has a protection grid to avoid dust and small elements that can enter the interior of the console, an area that is especially visible when we unfold the new folding support. This new piece will offer greater stability to the console when we use it resting on the table, something that was protested a lot in the first generation with its annoying folding leg, which detached quite easily and has ended up lost many times.

Is the OLED Switch worth it?

Nintendo Switch OLED

Without having been able to test it yet, the generational change seeks to simply update one of the components that felt worse in the original console. It is clear that the OLED screen will completely change the visual experience, however, the essence of the Switch could remain intact, which is not bad news, but it may not be enough to justify the purchase for some users. In a few weeks we will get rid of doubts, so for now we leave you with these first impressions of the new Nintendo console.
