On his Twitter account, leaker Ice Universe confirmed that Samsung’s next two foldable smartphones will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip. Engraved by TSMC, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip from Qualcomm should be more energy efficient than the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and could allow manufacturers to offer Android smartphones that overheat less.

This new processor will allow both devices toprovide much better performance compared to the current Galaxy S22s. As a reminder, these use an Exynos 2200 chip in Europe, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in other markets such as the United States. However, it will not be the first smartphone equipped with this new processor, since Motorola should be the first to use it in its Motorola Frontier on May 10. We also expect this super-powerful SoC to arrive this summer in the next OnePlus 10 Ultra, but also in the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
