Do you remember the series canceled by Fox last summer, the one that was supposed to tell the story of a teacher, trying to help three of her students to make a remake of their favorite film, The Goonies? Well, it seems that the project has risen from its ashes and, now, the show is preparing to debut on Disney +.
The Goonies homage TV series is back in development and will arrive on Disney +
Not only. There Donner Company and the Amblin, who had already taken care of the making of the original film, are back on board the project, with Clancy Collins White, executive vice president and chief of development for the series, who said:
“Sarah worked tirelessly to deliver this incredible script, we took a look at it and then the world closed for COVID. So we went back several months later and finished the beautiful pilot, and it was an incredible cast, but unfortunately a little too young for Fox. And so we immediately got into a new gear and proposed the project around. We didn’t have anything in development with Disney Plus yet. It was another example of being able to chart a path where there wasn’t one by virtue of a great story, a great pilot and a great series. The agreement took some time, but we are really excited to be able to move forward ”.
