The Green Knight: the Green Knight meets King Arthur, in the new clip from the film

As the film’s North American release date approaches, The Green Knight has returned to show itself in one new clip released exclusively by IGN, and in which the Green Knight meets King Arthur for the first time.

For the uninitiated, in fact, the film is a reinterpretation of Arthurian myths, directed by the director David Lowery (The Invisible Dragon). Dev Patel will be the protagonist of the story playing Sir Gawain, “The reckless and stubborn nephew of King Arthur, who embarks on a mission to face the Green Knight of the same name, a giant green-skinned stranger.”

Here is the official and complete synopsis of the film, based on the 14th century chivalric poem entitled Sir Gawain and the Green Knight:

An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, THE GREEN KNIGHT tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic stranger with emerald skin. Gawain battles with ghosts, giants, thieves and conspirators in what will become a deeper journey that will define him and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom as he faces the ultimate challenger.

From visionary director David Lowery comes a fresh and bold retelling of a classic tale about the knights of the round table.

In addition to Patel, The Green Knight will also see in the cast Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Ralph Ineson, Alicia Vikander is Sean Harris.

A24 will release The Green Knight in theaters with stars and stripes on July 30th.
